The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and Interstate 77 Mobility Partners have both filed individual motions with Mecklenburg County Superior Court for summary judgment.
Earlier, the court denied the motion from the plaintiff for a preliminary injunction that would effectively stop the project, depending on the litigation’s outcome. In light of this, NCDOT and I-77 Mobility Partners have asked that the pending lawsuit, which was filed by Widen I-77, be dismissed. According to them, there are not any grounds for the claims that the plaintiff has submitted in the case.

Nick Tennyson said. “This public-private partnership with I-77 Mobility Partners will provide a solution to the chronic congestion in the I-77 corridor while bringing in millions of dollars to the region in jobs and economic development.”
They state that the comprehensive agreement as well as the project align with the law.
“We (I-77 Mobility Partners) firmly believe that the I-77 Express Lanes project will provide a long-term solution to the Charlotte and Lake Norman region’s severe traffic problems in accordance with the reasoned policy decisions of the state legislature and NCDOT,” I-77 Mobility Partners CEO
