Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. recently delivered one of its Q-Cab160 back-of-cab CNG storage systems to OEM.

The new storage system is the top in its industry. It will be installed on an OEM natural gas-powered tractor at the Truck Mod center, allowing the systems to be applied using secondary installation methods or using direct OEM trucks. This will give users and facilities flexibility and alternatives for their program delivery preferences and locations.

Originally, Quantum first created Type IV composite technology in order to have the maximum storage capacity and efficiency possible in its CNG tanks as well as complete fuel systems. Today, Quantum gives its clients the highest diesel gallon equivalents for the lightest CNG systems per pound.

“We are energized to see further developments with our OEM relationships,” Brian Olson, president and CEO of Quantum, said. “This positive step forward reinforces our approach to work with OEMs and leverage their Mod centers or nearby install sites in order to deliver CNG solutions to the industry. Quantum continues to work with its OEM and industry partners to make the customer purchase process of a CNG truck as tailored as possible to satisfy the needs of the end user.”
