The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will hold an open house discussion Dec. 20, regarding the roundabout project that is planned for No See-Um Road and State Route 150.

The event  will start at

4 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. at the Manson Parks and Recreation building (142 Pedoi Street, Manson).

The open house gives the public the chance to learn about plans, construction schedule and traffic control. The public will also be able to discuss and ask questions about the project.

The purpose of the roundabout is to increase mobility and enhance the safety of the intersection of ST 150 and No See-Um Road.

This intersection has grown much busier in recent years, underscoring the need for improvements to be made. More than 10,000 vehicles travel through the intersection every day. This amount of traffic is resulting in delays that disrupt traffic patterns.

In the future, there will be hundreds of additional drivers traveling on this intersection as residential lots are currently in planning stages.

WSDOT gained funds that will be used to plan and construct these improvements earlier this year.

The project is scheduled to start in 2017.
