The Indiana Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 to discuss the new Interstate 69 interchange at the 106th Street overpass near Fishers in Hamilton County.

The hearing will be held at the Fishers City Hall Auditorium, located at One Municipal Drive

The new interchange configuration consists of an oval-shaped, two-lane roundabout that will be centered directly on the I-69 centerline. The current structure on 106th Street and I-69 will be replaced with the new south and north structures.

In addition, the north bridge will have a sidewalk between 6 feet and 8 feet wide. It will run the entire length of the project on the north side of 106th Street. There will be crosswalks on 106th Street at USA Parkway and Crosspoint Boulevard.

Additional construction on I-69 includes new bridge piers and new bridge abutments.

There is no new roadway work suggested for the current mainline I-69. All of the work being done on I-69 will take place on the new interchange ramps.

The entire project will use approximately 10 acres of the current right-of-way. An estimated 0.6 acre of wetland will be affected by the project. It will not affect streams, floodplains, endangered species or forests.
