Officials at the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently scheduled a series of public meetings to explain the details of the Interstate 69 Section 6 routes and request public feedback.

The main topic of the meetings will be five preliminary routes that reach from Martinsville to Indianapolis. The meetings will gather public feedback to improve the five alternative routes to a select few.

The information presented will include an analysis of how preliminary routes affect the environment. There will also be information about the cost as well as the purpose and need of performance standards.

The first session will be held at Perry Meridian High School (401 W. Meridian School Rd., Indianapolis) on Nov. 30. The second is at Mooresville High School (11 N. Carlisle St., Mooresville) on Dec. 2. The last is at Martinsville High School (1360 E. Gray St., in Martinsville) on Dec. 3. The meetings will last from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will include an open house, a formal presentation and a public comment portion.

The project office for I-69 is based in Martinsville, Ind., if there are any public concerns that cannot be addressed at the meeting.
