The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently announced that it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday for the new U.S. Highway 52 project in Rushville, Indiana.

The event will include contractor personnel as well as Mayor Mike Pavey. The contractor for the project was Dave O’Mara. He supervised the rebuilding of U.S. 52 between the Hodges Branch bridge, which is east of Seven Hills Road, through to State Route 3/Main Street, which is at the courthouse square.

Completed on the west side of Rushville, the $4-million project involved installing water mains and storm sewers, removing the current roadbed, construction of the full-depth asphalt pavement on top of treated subgrade, and adding sidewalks that have ramps that comply with the ADA.

This project is just one of many that is taking place across the state and the nation. Experts agree that investing in the U.S. infrastructure and transportation is crucial to the US economy.

The ceremony will take place at the intersection of Sextion, Cerro Gordo, and West Third Street.
