Scott Allen named new vice president and controller of Ryder

Ryder Systems, Inc., a commercial fleet management company specializing in transportation and supply chain solutions, recently named Scott Allen at its new vice president and controller.

Allen will serve as the company’s principal accounting officer. He will be in charge of the corporate planning, accounting, internal and external financial reporting, insurance, benefits, sales tax, payroll, and vehicle administration.

Allen previously worked at Altera Corporation as the vice president for Business Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis. During the seven years he spent at the company, he also was the vice president, assistant corporate controller and corporate controller.

Allen’s resume shows increasing responsibility in finance, accounting and auditing at a variety of divisions of KB Toys, General Electric, Ernst & Young, and Dominion Resources. He started his career at KPMG as an accountant.

Allen attended Siena College in Albany, New York. He graduated magna cum laude with an accounting degree and earned his Certified Public Accountant status.

“Scott brings 25 years of finance and accounting experience, and the ability to lead and motivate large global teams to this important role,” Art Garcia, executive vice president and chief financial officer for Ryder, said.

Allen is replacing Cristina Gallo-Aquino, who moved to a new position as the vice president and chief financial officer of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder.
