The Seattle Department of Transportation is soliciting input from the city’s residents on its Pedestrian Master Plan.
The department wants to obtain opinions through an updated survey now available on its homepage. The short survey will be open for comments through the end of November.
In 2009, Seattle announced a 20-year master plan to make Seattle the most walkable city in the nation. This plan is to help Seattle Department of Transportation improve walkability in the city.
The department contends that these new updates will not only make the city safe but also make it easier for citizens to walk in their neighborhoods.
Seattle Department of Transportation states that improvements will be made to sidewalks, curb ramps, and crosswalks. Also, signs will be put up throughout the Seattle area. The feedback is important because it helps identify the highest priority areas where improvements are needed.
Although Seattle Department of Transportation doesn’t say when the improvements will start or finish, it does state that this master plan will take several years to implement.
