Sener gets contract for California high speed line

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) awarded Sener a contract on Thursday to create the environmental and engineering services for a section of the California high speed line.

The section, which includes Burbank and Palmdale, will benefit from Sener’s technology and engineering expertise with urban and railway transportation. The company’s knowledge is specially tailored to high speed rail implementation.

Under the contract, Sener will create the preliminary design of 45 miles of the high speed line extending between Burbank Airport station and Palmdale station. Sener will provide engineering services like analyzing various alternatives and conceptual design engineering.

In addition, Sener will also organize the tender bid documents for design and build contracts. Sener has previously participated in other projects like Los Angeles Union Station.

According to the contract, Sener will be the prime consultant, with subcontractors including Kleinfelder, HDR, MBI, PlaceWorks and Circlepoint also included in the project.

“As experts in high speed rail lines that runs through major city centers, we’re going to apply all of our know-how to plan and design an efficient solution that will be respectful of the environment while being accessible and convenient for passengers,” Sener USA CEO Francisco Fernandez

said. “Given Sener’s expertise, we hope this contract will open a fruitful collaboration with the CHSRA.”
