Tailwind Transportation Software introduced International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) mileage reporting capabilities to its Express+ Carrier online package on Thursday.

Previously, this service was only available with the on-premises version; it has been in high demand from trucking companies.

This reporting requirement is one of the more challenging aspects of the industry for drivers. Without a computerized system, it can be time-consuming and tedious, requiring drivers and separate data-entry personnel to complete.

With this module, the application can track mileage, separate miles by jurisdiction and upload fuel invoices to the IFTA Module. Tailwind Transportation Software said that by utilizing this program, companies can save man-hours in both driving and office personnel.

“Everyone that learns about the Tailwind IFTA Module and its capabilities has expressed excitement, such as ‘I need that feature,'” Lynda Clare, senior training and implementation coordinator for Tailwind, said.

Tailwind Transportation Software Ltd. specializes in the creation and development of software utilized by freight-transportation companies, brokers and trucking carriers. Software solutions by the company aim to improve efficiency and profitability in the transportation industry. The company was founded in 2002 and aims to be a top information technology provider for the industry.
