Timmons Group produces application development services for Nevada

Timmons Group, a top supplier of geospatial enterprise solutions for more than 25 years, recently began to offer application development services to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT).

This collaboration enabled NDOT to create a series of tools that will work efficiently alongside Federal Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) data. NDOT leaders selected Timmons Group because of the company’s strong application development as well as geographic information systems (GIS) expertise.

Timmons Group has created a tool that is used with web-based browsers. Now NDOT staff can verify the organization’s data with existing HPMS measurements. Soon there will be a comprehensive history of dataset testing for users of the tool that will produce reports more quickly in order to monitor testing results more efficiently.

Timmons Group also developed the department’s new, purpose-based GIS tool. This method will enable NDOT users to save time, potentially several hours, in making manual updates as the tool automatically updates data to multiple events tables.

In addition, Timmons Group has also created a geospatial web viewer that will allow NDOT to easily analyze its data.

“We were not looking for a ‘one size fits all’ set of services for this contract,” Sherri McGee, NDOT’s information technology solution delivery manager, said. “We wanted to partner with companies that have proven experience and specific expertise. We are pleased to partner with Timmons Group on our development initiatives due to their extensive background with application development.”
