Transportation Sector Consultants (TSC) recently added three new members to its advisory board — Richard Jacobs, Robert Pudlewski and Jerry Bartee — two transportation industry veterans and one longtime educator, who will use their expertise to assist TSC’s growing school-district customers.
TSC President Pete Pearson said that each of the three new advisory board members brings vast knowledge and expertise in pupil transportation.
“They are great additions to the advisory board that we are building,” Pearson said. “We will continue to add qualified members to assist school transportation officials with the many challenges affecting their operations. This is a critical time for school district business officials and administrators to take advantage of the innovation and technology that is available without incurring large-scale purchases.”
Jacobs has 40 years of experience in school transportation and public school administration. He began his career as a teacher in the Boston Public Schools and became director of transportation there in 1990, with responsibility for providing transportation services to 45,000 students, including more than 4,000 special-needs students, in more than 300 public and private schools.
Pudlewski has 50 years of school-bus industry experience, having served the past 30 years as vice president of Laidlaw Education Services Inc., where he was responsible for operations, safety, vehicle procurement, equipment technology and fleet maintenance. His industry awards include the New York State Contractor of the Year, the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) Golden Merit Award, the NSTA Distinguished Service Award and the NSTA Hall of Fame Award.
Bartee was an educator with the Omaha Public Schools for 35 years. He was assistant principal and athletic director at Omaha South High School for six years and later became principal there. He subsequently served as assistant superintendent of district operational services for the Omaha schools, with responsibility for the development, operation, maintenance and disposition of school properties, before retiring in 2014.
