Workers who are covered by Union Pacific Railroad Employees Health Systems (UPREHS) will soon be able to make more informed medical choices, thanks to an agreement with Castlight Health, which was announced Monday.

Utah-based UPREHS has selected the Castlight Enterprise Healthcare Cloud platform to help the nonprofit strategically manage its health care investment on behalf of union members.

UPREHS CEO Rich Egan said the organization is at a tipping point of changing the health care experience for members.

“We are very excited to partner with Castlight Health,” Egan said. “Their navigational tool will help our members get answers to their health care questions, in real time, allowing them to better navigate a complex system and achieve better outcomes.”

The Castlight Cloud platform will provide UPREHS members with as an integrated “one-stop shop” to access programs such as a mail-order pharmacy and sleep apnea treatment; allow them to access their benefits any time with just a few clicks on the UPREHS website or via their mobile application; and help members become health care consumers who understand how to identify and secure value-based care.

UPREHS will implement Castlight’s award-winning medical and pharmacy services, and work with the company’s user-engagement team to drive member use of its platform.
