The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) recently celebrated the seventh anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as the “stimulus bill,” which aimed to stimulate job growth as the nation struggled amid the 2008-2009 recession.

This law included investments to salvage and create jobs in the transportation infrastructure sector, among other sectors. Thanks to the funding, many Americans were able to continue working, and those who were unemployed were able to find work under the law.

USDOT’s invites the public to see the effects of the law through its YouTube archive of videos that feature those who found jobs thanks to the Recovery Act, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnJWKd1Jw2E&list=PL9EB3D595DC163115.

Deputy Transportation Secretary Victor Mendez recently traveled around the country with Vice President Joe Biden to celebrate the anniversary of the Recovery Act and the Americans who benefitted from it.
