WSDOT to hold open houses next month on Puget Sound Gateway project

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) provided more details this week about the open houses it will be hosting concerning the Puget Sound Gateway project.

The project will finish State Route 167, from Puyallup to Tacoma, a new highway segment designed to improve mobility and traffic flow in the region, especially freight traffic.

The open houses will give residents, commuters and businesses the chance to hear more details about the Puget Sound Gateway and its first phase. Both open houses will be held in early March, during which WSDOT staff and local community leaders and members will talk about the project. There will not be any formal presentation as part of the events. Instead, people are welcome to attend the event when it is most convenient for them.

The first open house will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at the Fife Community Center, 2111 43th Ave. East, in Fife, Washington.

The second open house is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at the Puyallup Activity Center, 210 W. Pioneer Avenue, in Puyallup, Washington.
