Crews to build new off-ramp from SR 520 to Lake Washington Boulevard

Crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will soon finish constructing a new off-ramp that will allow drivers to travel from westbound State Route 520 directly to Lake Washington Boulevard. NTSB releases rules for board hearings and meetings

The NTSB published its Final Rule Tuesday in the Federal Register on the agency’s products and procedures for its hearings and meetings. The new rules will be implemented beginning Jan. 25. AAR releases weekly rail traffic for Dec. 26

Officials of the Association of American Railroads (AAR) published the latest U.S. rail traffic data from the week that ended with Dec. 26. The data shows that the cumulative rail traffic for the year of 2015 in the United States amounts to 391,107 intermodal units as well as carloads. This figure shows a 9.8 percent decrease when it is compared to the same time period in 2014. Read More »

Caltrans traffic data earns safety grant

The California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently awarded a grant to Caltrans to improve its traffic data capturing equipment. 190 metro areas see rise in construction employment

New data from the Associated General Contractors of America shows that there has been an increase in construction employment in 190 of the 358 metro areas in the United States. From November 2014 to 2015, the areas with the highest growth include New York City, West Virginia and Ohio. Regions with declines in construction employment include Texas and Mississippi.
