Caltrans traffic data earns safety grant

San Francisco Bay Bridge pier implosion an environmental success

Caltrans labeled last month's efforts to protect wildlife a success during the implosion of San Francisco Bay Bridge Pier E3. A series of small charges, referred to as a "bubble curtain," rather than large explosives was used to implode the bridge. Bike trips increase by 22% in San Francisco

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) bike counter based on Market Street tallied more than 1 million bike trips on the road for this year. The bike counter is visible and located between 9th Street and 10th Street. This is a sign of significant progress for the city’s bicycling population. CDOT tests novel safety feature for crosswalks in Sacramento

The CDOT recently scheduled a demonstration of the new safety features that they have added in crosswalks throughout the city of Sacramento. This innovative safety feature is YPB, a yellow border comprised of LED lights. San Francisco tow fees lowered for victims of stolen cars

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency announced Thursday that victims of stolen cars that are then towed will be given special favor when they seek to recover their vehicles in the city. 2 new train cars nearing delivery to BART

Production of two new train cars is nearing completion and soon they will be on their way to the Bay Area Rapid Transportation (BART). The first of the two new train cars is almost finished. SFMTA joins First Annual National Apprenticeship Week
