I-65 to be widened in Lake County

Lake County’s Interstate 65 will be widened due to heavy traffic. The interstate will be expanded to include three lanes in both directions between Merrillville south to State Road 2. Public meetings discuss I-69 section 6 routes

Indiana Department of Transportation officials have scheduled a series of public meetings this week to discuss the I-69 Section 6 route extension from Martinsville to Indianapolis. The purpose of the meetings is to gather public requests and input about the routes. The five preliminary routes were first announced in June 2015. I-65 ribbon cutting ceremony takes place on Worthsville Road

Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday for the new diverging diamond interchange located at Interstate 65 based at Worthsville Road. Indiana’s Wayne and Henry Counties undergo I-70 restrictions

Indiana DOT justifies proposed 106th Street interchange at I-69

The need for a proposed $34 million interchange connecting 106th Street with Interstate 69 in Hamilton County is threefold, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. A new interchange would reduce congestion at the existing I-69 interchanges with 96th Street and 116th Street, improve traffic safety within the project study area, and provide direct access. I-65 lane closed for repairs in Indiana

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) scheduled closures for Interstate 65 lanes between Franklin and Edinburg Saturday. The closure made way for full-depth concrete patching for the I-65 southbound right lane as well as bridge work at Sugar Creek and Big Blue River. INDOT makes guardrail repairs on I-65

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) repaired guardrails on the Interstate 65 bridges that cross Sugar Creek, Amity Ditch and Big Blue River Wednesday and Thursday. These repairs are a part of multiple segments of a project crews aim to complete before winter break. I-465 and I-65 restrictions, closures this week and weekend

The Indiana Department of Transportation will close or restrict certain portions of I-465 and I-65 starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend. On Nov. 19 at 9 p.m, the ramp for eastbound I-465 through southbound I-65 will be closed until Nov. 20 at 6 a.m. The crews need to make pavement repairs and saw-cut portions of the road in order to finish the project over the weekend. Ribbon cutting ceremony for SR 26/Water Street in Portland, Indiana

Officials and leaders from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially reopen State Route 26/Water Street on Friday at 10 a.m. This newly rebuilt roadway stands near the East Jay Middle School located in Portland, Ind. Two lanes of SR 57 open in Newberry

The contractors with the Indiana Department of Transportation reopened two lanes of State Road 57 in Newberry Friday. Beginning in 2010, drivers were required to follow the traffic signals that only allowed one direction of traffic to travel over the bridge at a time. Indiana taking applications for railroad crossing safety improvement grants

The Rail Office of the Indiana Department of Transportation is accepting applications for 100 percent reimbursable grant funds for rail crossing safety improvements. Improvements eligible for grants include pavement markings and warning signs or surface improvements at rail crossings. Ribbon cutting ceremony set for U.S. 52 in Indiana

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) recently announced that it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday for the new U.S. Highway 52 project in Rushville, Indiana. Completed on the west side of Rushville, the $4-million project involved installing water mains and storm sewers, removing the current roadbed, construction of the full-depth asphalt pavement on top of treated subgrade, and adding sidewalks that have ramps that comply with the ADA. Indiana completes first Major Moves 2020 project on I-65

The Indiana Department of Transportation said Friday that lanes of I-65 south of Indianapolis are now open to motorists as the first step of Indiana’s Major Moves 2020 contract is finished.
