U.S. 2 reconstruction project completed in Michigan

Michigan pushes back start date for M-66/M-55 widening project

The Michigan Department of Transportation said various design and schedule changes have been made in the 2016 plans for the M-66/M-55 widening project near Lake City. The plan is to widen and reconstruct M-66/M-55 to three lanes in Lake City, from Jennings Road to 1st Street. All eastbound Interstate 96 traffic in Michigan's Livingston County is now in its new configuration following recent lane closures. This weekend's lane closures at eastbound I-96 and U.S. 23 were needed so crews could change the eastbound traffic back onto the new lanes of the freeway.
